to the international experience at Kent
State University. Kent State University is a
comprehensive, research-intensive university
that has a long history of involvement in
international education and much to offer
students from all over the world. We welcome
international students who are interested in
studying in the United States to consider
our many diverse programs that include the
Bachelor, Master, Ph.D. degree programs as
well as Certificate Programs. For Asian
students in China, Korea and Taiwan, we
offer a special TEFL Certificate Program, a
Joint Program of Master of Arts in the
Teaching English as Second Language (MA in
TESL), and a Joint Program leading to a
Master of Technology (M. TECH). Please

學校簡介
|
 美國肯特州立大學位於美國東岸，俄亥俄州西北部 Franklin 鎮區中的 Kent
City 肯特市，擁有30,000居民，也是美國第一個有「樹城」之稱的城市。俄亥俄州為美國交通及經濟重要城市之一，距離美國其他大城市很近，像是底特律、哥倫布市、克里夫蘭及匹茲堡等。俄亥俄州氣候四季分明，每個季節都有專屬的休閒活動，位於五大湖區更是不乏各式各樣的水上活動。
百年名校美國肯特州立大學成立於1910 年，以當時捐贈校地的 William S.
Kent 為名。以師範教育大學起源的美國肯特州立大學，共有八個校區，提供了包含：專科學位、學士學位、碩士學位、博士學位、專業證照等的學術課程，是 Ohio State 第二大公立大學，為國際知名之綜合大學，也是當地學術與文化的核心，在教育、科技、傳播上皆扮演著領導者的地位，亦為台灣教育部及多項官方機構及學術單位的認可及推薦的學府。
美國肯特州立大學為全美第27大教育機構，佔地824英畝的校園鄉村美景，矗立著111座建築物、機場及高爾夫球場，在校就讀人數高達35,000多人，加上每年均有900多位來自世界各地的國際學生申請入學，提供272種主修學士學位課程，5種兩年制主修副學士課程，49種研究所碩士學位課程以及21種博士學位課程可供學生主修攻讀。校園內新建立的休閒育樂中心，設施多元且健全，另外更有超過200種學生社團及組織，每年在學校舉辦多達1,000多種的各式活動，例如:舞蹈、講座、家庭活動或電影播映等，喜歡運動的學生，還有許多體育校隊可供選擇。
 另外值得一提的是，美國肯特州立大學圖書館為 Association
of Research Libraries [研究圖書館協會]的一部份，擁有250多萬冊豐富藏書；此外，校內的液晶研究中心成立於1965年，致力於液晶科技研究發展，尤其以1970年發明液晶 (Liquid Crystal) 最為著名，提供許多有心人士研究、發展的一流環境。 |

語言學校 ESL Center

Kent State University
在校區內設有語言學校
ESL，為國際學生提供多種美語進修課程，可以是單純學習美語，或是準備在美國升學。ESL
接受學生個人申請，也歡迎團體報名參加課程。
每年舉辦暑期短期英語遊學團課程。ESL
從五月到八月提供短期暑期課程，課程分為二週、三週或是九週不等。此課程可供學生暑期遊學，亦方便部份學生為秋季正式學術課程，做提前語文準備。

也依春秋兩季開課。春季班是從一月中旬到五月中旬；秋季班則是八月底到十二月中旬。
